(No, I am NOT referring to Minnesota in January as "paradise"!)
Grandpa Pete rents a condo in Estero, FL (near Ft Myers) every year, and we went down to join him for a week - and boy, was it fun!! Auntie Abby came with us to help with the kids. She is so, so awesome with them, and it was wonderful to have her along to help out!
The weather at the beginning of the week was a balmy 70+ degrees, which - as we were often reminded by our family - was literally 100 degrees warmer than the almost -30 degree temps they were experiencing here in Minnesota!! We definitely picked the right week to get out of here!
The whole trip was very relaxing - mostly spent lounging on the lanai, and in the neighborhood pool - although we did get a couple trips to the beach and other excursions in.

We also stopped at the beach in Naples - it was a little cooler, but still in the 60's.
And we went to the Twins' spring training facility - the Lee County Sports Complex. We didn't see any of the players down there - although Bert Blyleven did sit in the row right behind us on the plane on the way down!

The kids were so wonderful the whole week! I think they love being on vacation as much as their Mommy does!! :)
